At Key West we pride ourselves on strong relationship with our clients. A testament to that is our growing body of work in training videos. From corporate leaders like Bell Canada to non-profits like TRIEC, Key West Video creates dynamic training videos that people actually watch and absorb. The challenge for Bell Canada was to train sales representatives in all of Bell’s stores and in resellers like Future Shop and the Source across Canada. The product was Blackberry’s new Storm. Key West worked closely with Stephen McDermott (Manager, Channel Training Design) to develop an engaging script that achieved Bell’s training objective. The next step was to use our relationship with Toronto’s largest casting studios, Casting Central, and ACTRA, the actor’s guild, to get the finest talent to deliver Bell’s message. Our shoot was held at our downtown studios and was monitored closely by Stephen. Then we added a rocking opening in our high definition edit suite. The result? Well here’s what Stephen had to say: “I just wanted to send a congratulations to you and your team. The video was shown to the senior vice president and president of Bell mobility, and they love it! I have told everyone how pleasant, professional and easy it was to work with Key West.”
For TREIC, a non-profit organization promoting the virtues and integration of Skilled Immigrant professional, the goal was to instruct, but also to achieve that magical quality that only video has – to help us relate. We needed to bridge the gap between employers and their culturally different employees. We identified that the key to the challenge was drama. Realistic performances and situations needed to be created in order to bridge this gap. The process was intensive. And the result? Here’s what Navpreet Singh (Manager, Training and Workshop Development, Employer Initiatives) had to say: “TRIEC approached Key West Video Inc to create videos that would engage human resources professionals on the topic of cultural competence in the workplace. Director David Lees provided valuable direction and helped us translate our ideas into videos that are used for training purposes. TRIEC received positive feedback on the usefulness of the videos and was pleased with the creativity, professionalism and expertise on the part of the Key West Video staff.” We are currently working with TRIEC on the sequels.
Training videos have become a valuable tool that enables business to compete in the current information age.
