Key West Video Announced as a 2022 National and Local Excellence Award Winner by UpCity!

It’s that’ time of year again! The summer holidays have made its entrance. To kick everything off, we have Canada Day! Hooray! This year, however, things are a little different. Typically Canada day is a huge celebration across the country. It’s a national holiday, and there’s always a bunch of activities happening. Barbecues, fireworks, parades, and parties!

How are we Celebrating Canada Day Differently This Year?

This year, Canada day is celebrated very differently. Months have gone by, and COVID 19 is still causing a ruckus around town. To ensure everyone’s safety, this year, Canada day events are being held virtually! You could have your little events in your small, physically distanced circles, but if you’re used to heading to a park for fireworks, you’ll have to enjoy them from the comfort of your home.

Some of the events include the CN Tower hosting a light show at 10 pm EST on their website. You could even watch virtual fireworks from Ottawa at 10 pm as well!

COVID – 19

COVID 19 has changed the way that people come together to celebrate and enjoy the summer. Usually, summers are meant to be a time of carefree living. The economy usually thrives, and there’s always something to be doing around the city. However, things we typically take for granted, like exploring attractions and sites, have now been stripped away from us. How do we have fun when this is the case?

A lot of the regular attractions like Ripley’s Aquarium, Aga Khan, and the Toronto Zoo have found unique ways to stay open and stay entertaining folks. Ripley’s Aquarium and Aga Khan are offering timed ticket entries, and the Toronto Zoo is offering a drive-through Safari!

Even though these attractions are offering modified experiences, for regulars and season pass holders, this is a new way of living.

2020 has been a rollercoaster of a year, but now that we’re more than halfway through, we think it’s a year that’s going to be worth reflecting upon. Moving forward, I think a lot of us won’t be taking the little things for granted anymore. We sure are grateful that we live in Canada.

Happy Canada Day, Folks! Let us know how you’re celebrating in the comments.
