The video production industry is always changing with new marketing trends each year, and it can be hard to keep up. It’s important to remember that regardless of trends- intention, and good content will over win over the hearts of a good viewer. We’ve researched and picked out some of our favourite new trends for 2021!
Tik Tok/Reel Videos
We’ve written about the phenomenon known as Tik Tok and the Facebook copycat, Instagram reels quite a bit. This video format that’s limited to 30 seconds, vertical video, and fun text and imaging is going to be trending in 2021 as we see more content creators and businesses utilize this format. This format is easily digestible and extremely binge-able—the best way to get traction on any platform when posting reels is to post consistently.
Webinars and Virtual Conferences
The pandemic has definitely put a hold on in-person events and seminars, prompting us to move to virtual platforms. It’s crazy how much can be done in the virtual world. In 2021, marketing trends show us that we’ll definitely see a rise in webinars and online conference platforms such as VFairs to create interactive digital spaces. What’s great about doing all of this virtually is that anyone can tune in from around the world, which allows for a great reach.
We’ve all been guilty of watching videos when we aren’t supposed to. Soundless videos make that process a lot easier now. Telling a narrative even if there isn’t a sound is a handy skill to have. Storytelling in this way can be accessible if you add text on screen or captions as well. This trend is a win-win and definitely one that everyone should take a look at.
Shoppable videos are definitely trending for the year 2021. Instagram introduced shoppable posts where you can click on an item featured in an image to purchase it. We’re now moving this same functionality to a video format. This new format will allow users to instantly purchase goods and services after/during being inspired by the video.
Vlog content is all the rage coming into 2021. Putting a face to your brand and giving it personality is an amazing marketing opportunity. You can vlog about what a day in your life looks like, the products you recommend, tips for productivity, or tips for your niche. All of this is valuable content, and it can be repurposed in shorter forms like a reel or Tik Tok.
Less Production Value
This may seem counterintuitive but hear us out! People are looking toward less production value since it screams authenticity. The more souped-up your video is, the more strategic it feels to a regular audience. By lowering the production value and bringing it back to basics, viewers will pay more attention to what you say and trust what you have to say.
