With Christmas soon approaching, we decided to reminisce on some of our favourite holiday video advertisements.
After all, who doesn’t love a good Christmas commercial?
Here are some of our favourite Christmas commercials and video advertisements to get you in the spirit for holiday cheer:
1. Coca-Cola
Who could forget this infamous Coca-Cola commercial? Each year, the soft drink powerhouse release a new Christmas ad filled with holiday cheer, nostalgic childhood references, and warmhearted messages. Tying into a traditional sense of what it means to be North American, it tugs on our heartstrings each and every year.
2. Allegro
Allegro, a Polish online auction site, recently put a heartwarming ad about a Polish man learning English to travel to the “west” for the first time. Through a series of vocal exercises, sticky notes, and practicing with rubber ducks in the bathroom, the old Polish man packs his things and makes his way to an unknown destination. Later, we see that the man is visiting his westernized, English-speaking son and their family. In a near tear-jerker, the Polish man approaches a small child cowering in the corner. With an accomplished smile on his face, he states that he is the child’s grandfather. We’re not crying. YOU’RE crying.
3. John Lewis

This last video commercial ad for John Lewis, a department store based in the UK, depicts the father of a family setting up a trampoline on Christmas Eve. Overnight, we see a series of animals jump on the trampoline while a lonely dog watches from inside the house. The next morning, to the heartwarming astonishment of the family’s little girl, we see the trampoline empty. As the little girl runs to her new gift, she’s beaten to it by the dog, anxious to jump on the trampoline.
