The Challenge
Chandos Construction wanted to showcase their work on a newly completed Indigo retail location at The Well, a busy mixed-use development in downtown Toronto. Filming inside an active retail environment presented a unique challenge: the production needed to capture the space in a visually engaging way while minimizing disruption to customers and store operations.
The goal was to highlight the finished construction and design of the space while also incorporating an interview to provide context about the project. With limited time available on location, the shoot required careful planning and an efficient production approach to ensure everything could be captured quickly without interfering with the store’s daily activity.
Our Solution
Our team worked closely with Chandos Construction to plan the shoot in advance, developing a set of interview questions that would guide the conversation and help the on-camera participant communicate key details about the project clearly and naturally. This preparation allowed the interview to flow smoothly without the need for a scripted voice-over.
On the production day, our crew moved efficiently through the space to capture dynamic b-roll that showcased the store’s architecture, finishes, and layout while maintaining a low-profile presence for customers. Our producer worked directly with the interview subject to ensure they felt comfortable on camera, helping them deliver their insights with confidence.
By combining the interview with carefully captured visuals of the completed space, the final video provides Chandos Construction with a polished piece of content that highlights their work while respecting the busy retail environment in which the production took place.
