Why Bloopers Might Be Your Corporate Video's Missing Ingredient

Bloopers, otherwise known as alternative shots, are the oft-unused scenes in a video.

Whether it’s for film, TV, commercials, or a corporate video, bloopers reflect the things that weren’t supposed to happen on camera.

Bloopers are often memorable because they’re so unpredictable. Unlike scripted content, they are “unintended indiscretions before microphone and camera”.

Bloopers are the accidents or mistakes that actors/talent have while they cameras are still rolling. They’re usually a line slip-up, forgotten dialogue, or a mishap with the action in the scene.

In the midst of serious subject matter or stern dialogue, they can serve as a nice way to offset intense or dull scenes. For example, if your corporate video is exploring a lot of information at once, fun in the credits might be something for audiences to look forward to.

A lot of corporate companies run the risk of being dull, monotonous, and ultimately boring in their corporate videos. There are so many interesting ways to convey information on visual formats. Why not allow the “mistakes” help you do it?

The fun thing about these “mistakes” is that, in those few moments, they show a glimpse of who you really are. We’ve seen it before with comedies like Rush Hour and Cheaper By The Dozen. We’re able to see who the characters – or actors – are when things go off script. They’re usually comedic, unintentional, and completely unplanned.

A corporate video with bloopers at the end gives your audience deeper insight into who you truly are. Is your corporate-head a funny, talkative person? How do they react when things go off plan? All of these things can be helpful when connecting with audiences.

Also, a corporate video told by bloopers might also be a cool idea. There are stories to be told through our intentional dialogue. If you’re a company who has a strong sense of humour, bloopers might not be completely off-brand.

Here at Key West Video, we welcome all different types of corporate videos. For more information about the services, visit our website today!
